For years, many Disney fans have insisted that the only correct way to start exploring EPCOT's World Showcase is by beginning at Mexico. But now, that tradition is seeing a shift.
Two major attractions added to the World Showcase in the past decade have changed how visitors now approach the Mexican Pavilion. As someone who consistently began their visits there for over 30 years, even I have reconsidered my route.
The pivotal change began in 2009 with the opening of La Cava del Tequila. Known for its extensive tequila selection and delightful cocktails, it's become a favorite pit stop for adults traversing the World Showcase.
Then in 2019, the introduction of the Skyliner gondola system, with a stop near France's pavilion, offered guests a convenient alternative entrance, leading to more visitors starting or ending their tours near France rather than Mexico.
Thanks to La Cava’s allure and increased usage of the International Gateway entrance, many Disney enthusiasts now opt to make Mexico their final stop, enjoying a nightcap with tequila to cap off their journey.
