Disney World is always changing – a lot! Disney World has some massive changes in store for March that are coming up soon.
Cinderella Castle
March brings the closure of one of our favorite rides, the reopening of a restaurant we’re so excited for, and a new EPCOT festival! Here’s everything you need to know if you’re headed to Disney World in March.
Walking down Sunset Boulevard won’t be the same in March. That’s because Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is permanently closing on March 2nd!
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
The ride will be reimagined as Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, but it’s unclear how much of the ride or the surrounding area will change with the retheme yet. The new ride will follow The Electric Mayhem band with appearances from Kermit, Miss Piggy, Scooter, and Gonzo.
The EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival opens on March 4th and runs until June 1st. The festival will have topiaries of your favorite Disney characters, delicious spring food, and a free concert series!

Pretty!
We’re already seeing some sneak peeks of the festival. Topiaries are popping up in EPCOT, and bookings for the Garden Rocks concert dining packages are already open!
On Sunday, March 8th, the clocks will spring forward an hour. If you have any plans, make sure to set your alarm accordingly!
Set your alarm!
Daylight Saving Time will make rope drop, flights, dining reservations, and Lightning Lane reservations all be an hour closer! Since the sun is setting later, fireworks and night shows will also have later showings.
Quite a few Annual Passholder exclusives are leaving this March. The last day to get a Nick and Judy Zootopia Annual Passholder Magnet is March 15th.
Nick and Judy!
It’s also the last day to get the Annual Passholder exclusive ice cream sundae at Terra Treats in Animal Kingdom. The Carrot Cake Sundae is one of our favorite Disney treats right now. It’s vanilla ice cream topped with carrot cake and pecans.
The Garden View Tea Room has been closed for nearly six years now, but it’s finally reopening on March 19th. The Garden View Tea Lounge will be their new tea party experience with an all-new menu!

The interior has been completely renovated. The new menu has some treats we’re so excited to try, like cupcakes, macarons, and of course, unlimited tea! Reservations officially open on February 19th, and we expect them to fill up FAST.
Disney usually does a few events for Easter that we can’t miss. EPCOT does a themed Easter egg hunt in the park, and you find them all to win a prize! Plus, you can usually meet The White Rabbit at Magic Kingdom during the Easter season.
Miss Bunny!
If you’re staying at a Walt Disney World resort, they’ll also have Easter egg displays at The Grand Floridian and Yacht and Beach Club! They’re gorgeous, handcrafted jumbo eggs that you can only see once a year.
If you’re booking a trip to Disney World soon, we’ve got you covered! Our friends at Small World Vacations can help you plan the perfect trip — you won’t regret it!
We’re in the parks every day, so stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more Disney World updates!
