Recently, Disney has announced new lands, attractions, and entertainment headed to the theme parks, new ships coming to the Disney Cruise Line, and so much more. But, what about those projects that Disney hasn’t exactly announced yet?

Keeping up with the latest construction permits Disney World files can be a great way to find out just what is going on around the parks and hotels, and we recently spotted some you might want to know about!

Planning guide for the ultimate Disney vacation

We’re always on the hunt for the latest construction permits filed by Disney to get an idea of what sort of changes might be coming to the parks, and here’s what we found this time around, starting at the Polynesian hotel!

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

A General Conditions permit was recently filed for work to be done at the Polynesian. This resort has been getting a bit of an upgrade in terms of the main entrance, bus loop, and parking areas, which is slated to continue through 2026. This permit is likely a continuation of that. A new main entrance is being constructed to shift traffic away from 7 Seas Drive.

The contractor listed on this permit is Poli Construction, Inc., a general contractor based out of Orlando who has worked on other Disney projects in the past, including Trail’s End Restaurant at Fort Wilderness and Paradiso 37 at Disney Springs. While we don’t know much about this permit, we’re hopeful it won’t extend the construction much longer than already anticipated.

We also found a permit for work to be done to a maintenance building behind Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom. The permit isn’t very specific as it only lists General Construction as the scope of work. DPR Construction is listed as the contractor performing the work, which is known for hospitality work and general contracting. The expiration date on this permit is June 26th, 2026, which indicates that whatever work is being done won’t take long.

We’ll be on the lookout for additional news about these permits and beyond. In the meantime, we’ll be on the hunt for new updates at Disney World and more — so stay tuned to the Disney Food Blog for the latest news!
