Summer at Disney World means long days by the pool, magical evenings under the fireworks, and — let’s be honest — a serious need for treats to keep us cool and entertained between park visits.
DIY DOLE Whip
If you’re staying at one of Disney’s deluxe resorts this August, you’ll want to carve out some time to actually enjoy the hotel itself, because Disney World’s Swan and Dolphin Resort is packing the month with activities, live music, and sweet deals that make staying “home” just as fun as being in the parks.
Let’s start with the daily lineup, because there’s a LOT going on here. Kids (and kids at heart) can dive into Brena’s Arts & Activities and the Fun Team Craft Station, both running daily from 12PM-5PM for an additional fee. When the sun goes down, head to the beach for S’mores on the Shore and Cinema on the Beach — both happening every night at dusk, and both included in your resort service fee, so no extra cost there. There’s also Camp Dolphin running 3PM-10PM daily if you need a few hours to sneak away for a grown-ups-only dinner, plus Swan Boats (11AM-6PM), a water slide (10AM-7PM), and outdoor games (8AM-8PM) to fill out the rest of your day.
The Dolphin Hotel
If you’ve got little ones with you, don’t miss the deal at The Fountain — purchase a child’s entrée and get a complimentary kids scoop of ice cream thrown in, all month long. It’s a simple perk, but a sweet one (literally), and a great way to end a meal without breaking the bank. Cookie lovers, mark your calendars for August 4th. It’s National Chocolate Cookie Day, and Swan and Dolphin is celebrating with $3 chocolate chip cookies available at Java, Fuel, and Grounds. That’s a pretty great price for a treat we’d happily pay full price for anyway.
The Fountain Spread
And finally, the biggest draw of the month might be the Summer Concert Series, happening August 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th. These free live music nights bring rotating culinary experiences to Cabana Bar and Beach Club and Splash, complete with themed food trucks, specialty cocktails, and plenty of good summer vibes. Whether you grab a drink and sway along or make a whole evening of trying different food trucks, it’s a laid-back way to spend a Disney vacation night without ever needing a park ticket.

Between the nightly beach activities, the concert series, and the sweet treats sprinkled throughout the month, Swan and Dolphin is proving that a Disney World stay doesn’t have to be all about the parks.
