I have to admit: I've never been on Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT in Disney World. It's surprising, especially considering I write for DISNEY Food Blog and usually jump at the chance to try new rides. Yet, despite several visits since the ride opened, I’ve never set foot on it, and there’s a good reason.

I detest spinning rides. This is a lifelong sentiment, from avoiding the merry-go-round as a child to regretting ever boarding a carnival's spinning ride. Experiences like these remind me to steer clear of rides like the Mad Tea Party. A memorable mishap on Disneyland’s Space Mountain, with its spiral drop, further affirmed this—sorry, to the poor soul who feared I'd be sick next to them!

Weirdly enough, I handle motion simulator rides fine and love Star Tours. Circles, though? No thank you. Adding to the challenge, I now have vertigo, which worsens the experience.

During previews of Cosmic Rewind, initial feedback about the coaster’s swiveling cars sounded like a recipe for nausea. Reports of strategically placed trash cans at the ride’s exit were a red flag. A detailed ride-through video confirmed my suspicions; Cosmic Rewind is not my cup of tea.

Why share this? To emphasize it's okay to opt out of rides that might make you miserable. It’s better to miss one ride than to lose a whole day to post-ride recovery. Disney World offers so much beyond rides.

For those curious about Cosmic Rewind without the commitment, you can explore the queue and enjoy the pre-show before backing out. The beauty of Disney is its variety—there's something for everyone.

Do you have rides you avoid at Disney World? Love to hear your thoughts!
