Theme parks at Disney World sometimes close early, either for special events like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, or other unspecified reasons.

Today, Magic Kingdom is closing at 4:30 PM, which might deter some from visiting. However, the lighter crowds suggest that maybe early closing days are worth reconsidering. Let’s explore how the day unfolds!

This morning at Magic Kingdom, there was barely a wait to get inside, making for a calm start to the day.

Main Street, U.S.A. had more visitors, but it still wasn't as crowded as usual. The vibe is definitely more relaxed today.

Notably, ride wait times are shorter; Jungle Cruise was listed at 35 minutes but we only waited about 20 minutes. It's currently just a 20-minute wait.

Tomorrowland was also pleasantly quiet, with rides like Tomorrowland Speedway almost being walk-ons.

In Fantasyland, Storybook Circus was pretty peaceful. Though the usual bottleneck area was still there, it was less severe than on normal days.

Over in Liberty Square, Haunted Mansion’s wait time was surprisingly just 10 minutes.

While Magic Kingdom isn’t empty, the lower wait times are certainly a plus. Typically, we’d advise against visiting on an early closing day unless you have a park hopper to head elsewhere afterward. But with today’s calm atmosphere, perhaps it’s worth reconsidering that advice!

What's your take on visiting Disney on early closing days? Have you experienced a quieter park day before? Share your thoughts!
