Value truly is subjective.

Visiting Walt Disney World and staying on-site can be quite costly. However, staying on Disney property has traditionally come with perks that help justify the price. Yet, these perks have evolved over time, with some being reduced or removed and others added or adjusted. This raises the question: which Disney perks are genuinely valuable, and which are not? We asked our readers and received an extensive—and occasionally surprising—range of responses.

One new perk, offering guests staying at Disney hotels free access to a water park on the day of check-in, was not as well-received as expected. Reader Jenny pointed out, "The free waterpark entry on check-in day is tricky since many don't arrive until late.”

Similar dissatisfaction was expressed regarding the early entry perk. Reader Sue said, “Extra morning hours are swamped—too many people. Partner hotels make early entry less valuable,” with reader Terri adding, “Early entry should be at least an hour for Disney property only.” Many agreed that 30 minutes is insufficient.

As for the Disney Dining Plan, Steve commented, “It’s set up for Disney to profit, limiting choices and not offering good value unless you really strategize."

The refillable resort mugs have also been critiqued, with many readers noting they’re not usable in the parks and have limited beverage options. Steve shared, “…don't drink soda much, and coffee in a plastic mug isn't appealing.”

Some miss older perks that have been removed, feeling that Disney no longer provides valuable benefits. Reader Ray said, “Wait, there are still perks? I don’t see free 'perks' at Disney anymore—no Magical Express, no free Magic Bands, no free Fast Passes…”

While Disney still offers perks for those staying on-site, many readers feel some have lost their value. What perks do you find lacking at Walt Disney World? Share your thoughts!
