It's hard to believe that 2025 is nearly here! We’ve already begun our New Year’s resolutions and, naturally, planning multiple trips to Disney World is among our goals.

As the New Year approaches, we’re highlighting some significant changes in Florida and Disney World travel for 2025.

**Be REAL ID Ready!**

One major change affecting travel in 2025 involves identification. Starting May 7, 2025, **U.S. travelers will need to be REAL ID compliant to board domestic flights.** To check if your ID is compliant, look for a gold or black star in the upper portion of the card. If your ID lacks this star, you must visit your state’s driver’s licensing agency to **obtain a REAL ID for travel.**

**Car Rentals Are Getting More Expensive**

If you plan to rent a car from Orlando International Airport, **expect higher rental costs in 2025.** The Customer Facility Charge (CFC), which was raised to $9 from $6 in November 2024, will remain in effect. Although the increase isn’t substantial, it’s worth noting. Additionally, be prepared for various extra fees when renting a vehicle, such as a Concession Recovery Fee and a Vehicle License Fee. **These fees can add over $150 to a weeklong SUV rental from MCO.**

**Potentially Higher Travel Volume**

Next year may also see **increased travel to Orlando** with the grand opening of **Universal’s Epic Universe on May 22, 2025.** This new theme park is likely to draw large crowds, potentially leading to more visitors and traffic as you travel to Orlando.

**New Restaurants Coming to Orlando Airport**

Orlando International Airport will experience changes in 2025 as well. **Over 40 new restaurants and stores will be added,** including eight local eateries! Renovations are expected to begin in mid-2025, leading to some construction but also the chance to enjoy new dining options by the year's end.
