Two big updates from Universal could impact your next trip!

Universal has been at the center of many discussions recently, mostly because of the buzz around Epic Universe's previews. But, if you're planning a trip to Universal Orlando and want to explore all its parks, there's a change on the horizon that might make you reconsider spending a day at a specific park.

Universal has announced several operational updates that will soon impact Volcano Bay.

One of Volcano Bay’s main attractions is the TapuTapu system, which offers virtual queues for rides and slides. Visitors receive a band upon park entry, letting them virtually wait for attractions and receive alerts when it’s their turn.

This beloved system has enabled guests to use contactless payment and enjoy interactive experiences, too.

However, starting October 1st, the TapuTapu wearables and virtual lines will be discontinued. While this change can be divisive, Universal suggests it will make queuing more relaxed.

But there's more! Universal also announced that Volcano Bay will have a seasonal closure, starting October 26th, 2026, and will tentatively reopen by March 24th, 2027, to conduct maintenance.

While still some time away, it’s vital to be aware of this if you're planning a visit. Consider exploring Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Epic Universe, or enjoy local sights if Volcano Bay is unavailable.
