Picture this: you're wandering through Epic Universe, excited for a meal to re-energize, when out of the blue, you receive a dubious-looking text that seems to be from Universal.

Is it real? A scam? A theme park catfishing attempt? Don't fret — it's not as bad as it sounds.

While at Epic Universe, eagerly waiting for our reservation at the Atlantic restaurant, we received an unexpected and somewhat suspicious text message. It was out of the ordinary, as Universal typically doesn't send such texts for park visits (though their hotel texting system is stellar). Despite our reservations at the restaurant, we hesitated to click the link included in the message.

Spoiler: We clicked it (don't judge!). Our curiosity got the better of us, leading us to a website that looked even sketchier, raising our concerns.

However, rest easy — we verified with an Epic Universe Team Member that the message was indeed genuine. Universal is utilizing a third-party system to confirm bookings, explaining the non-official look of the website.

So if you book a dining reservation at Epic Universe and receive a text to confirm or cancel, it's likely legitimate. Always exercise caution, ensuring the information appears valid before proceeding, but for Epic Universe, you should generally be safe.

We'll continue to share updates as we explore more of this incredible park. Stay connected with us at Disney Food Blog for the latest news!
