Disney World generally nails it... mostly! But there's one ride rule they need to rethink.

While Disney's ride rules prioritize safety and entertainment elements, some feel unnecessary. Certain rides, like Tomorrowland Speedway, cater to younger guests while still having height restrictions to ensure fun for all. But at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, there's a rule affecting everyone's experience.

If you've been to Hollywood Studios, you've likely seen Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, packed with Star Wars-themed experiences and rides. A standout is Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, where guests pilot their own adventures. While the general rules are acceptable, a change is needed for the role assignment of pilot.

Before boarding, riders receive roles: pilot, engineer, or gunner. While anyone can push buttons, piloting involves more precision. We believe age restrictions for pilots could greatly improve the experience.

Let's be honest—nothing's cooler for a kid than piloting a spaceship. But inexperienced pilots often make for a bumpy ride, which isn't fun for everyone else onboard. A young pilot often means frequent collisions, turning the ride into a potential discomfort.

It might seem reasonable to just skip the ride if concerned about crashes, but here are two possible solutions. First, if young pilots are present, assign them their own cockpit. This would spare guests who prefer a smoother ride. Alternatively, implementing an age requirement for pilots could help, although it doesn't entirely eliminate the issue, as not all kids struggle and some adults aren't great pilots either.

This isn't about restricting fun, and we doubt Disney would implement such changes anytime soon. But what do you think? Is changing the pilot rule necessary, or are we overreacting? Share your thoughts!
