Uh, I’m sorry WHAT?
Frontier Plane at the Orlando Airport
We were recently flying with Frontier Airlines and heard something we weren’t too happy about.
Frontier Airlines, like many airlines, makes passengers pay extra to choose their seats, but sometimes, you sit next to your party anyway. On our recent flight, it seemed that the airline deliberately split up parties.

Our reporter was flying with their partner, about twenty rows apart, and most people around them were experiencing the same issues, saying their families were all split up. Some passengers were able to rearrange on the plane to sit with their families, but it caused a lot of chaos and required a lot of trust in other passengers that they were also willing to move.

One mother we spoke to said she asked at the counter if she could be moved to sit with her family together, and she was told it would cost her $40, even though there were empty seats on the plane. Yeah, not cool, Frontier!
Orlando International Airport
While it’s not kind to split up parties, especially when there are opportunities to keep groups together, our advice? If you’re traveling with a group, maybe don’t take Frontier or be willing to spend the extra money to keep everyone together, even if you plan on asking at the counter. If you’re traveling by yourself, you might not have an issue, but you should still be aware of the chaos that can be onboard while everyone tries to sit with their families.
