No Magic Kingdom day is complete without a magical viewing of the iconic fireworks show, Happily Ever After!

Magic Kingdom

However, you need to pay attention because the start time is changing again!

Planning guide for the ultimate Disney vacation

Last month, on March 8th, the start time shifted from 9 PM to 9:30 PM. And as we approach the summer months, it looks like the time is going to be changing again!

You don’t want to miss the nighttime fireworks!

Starting on April 19th, Magic Kingdom’s fireworks show, Happily Ever After, will start at 10 PM! It’s also important to note that Magic Kingdom closes early, at 5:30pm, on May 13th, so there won’t be any fireworks that night. However, since the parks are also set to close at 10pm, it’s important to have your firework strategy ready to go!

Fireworks

If it’s super important for you to see the projections on the castle and be in the middle of everything, then you might want to camp out for a great spot in front of the castle.

Or if you want to see the fireworks but avoid the crazy exit crowd, then a spot at the back of Main Street might be the best place for you.

However, if you want to try to avoid the crowds altogether, and you’re okay missing out on the projections, watching the fireworks from Storybook Circus is a hidden gem! It’s quiet, tucked away from the crowds, and you might even be able to see the fireworks from Dumbo or Goofy’s Barnstormer.

And if fireworks aren’t really your thing, take advantage of those short wait times and hop in line for a popular ride like Tron right before 10 PM. That way you can experience a great ride with a shorter line, and by the time you’re done, hopefully some of those crazy exiting crowds will have quieted down!

There are so many ways to view this incredible fireworks show, and you can choose what’s best for your family, even if that doesn’t mean being in the center of Main Street! However you choose to view the fireworks, it’s important to know when they start so you can plan your day. From now through April 18th, they will begin at 9:30 PM, and then on April 19th the officially move over to the 10pm start time!

so pretty!
