With Hurricane Debbie coming close to Disney World today, it got me wondering, has anyone been thru a hurricane at Disney World?

Are the parks open during a hurricane? What about food, or water?

It can get so hot in Florida, I would hope they would shut down.

Disney resorts are built to well above the standards set by Florida. Its one reason why a number of the hotels are safe havens for Florida residents trying to seek shelter away from some areas. Disney usually puts together kits, but obviously if they lose power, they lose power. They have a large water supply so you should be good. I've never rode out a storm at Disney, it's on my bucket list.

A few years ago, right before Hurricane Dorian hit, we were getting out. They were putting out cases of water and putting up signs for to-go meals. They were cheaper than normal meals, so Disney for sure doesn't mark things up. Maybe because the Governor comes out and that might be consider price gouging?

I wouldn't want to be stuck in a Disney room without being able to leave, as they aren't always the biggest.
