It's been a whirlwind year of major changes. Disney World is undergoing massive transformations, with entire theme park lands closing, new areas opening, and fresh shows debuting. Meanwhile, Orlando International Airport is also evolving with new restaurants, ongoing Terminal C expansions, and improvements to parking facilities.
Exciting times are ahead for Southwest Airlines passengers, although not everyone might be thrilled. Starting May 28th, 2025, Southwest’s iconic “Bags Fly Free” policy will only apply to select passengers, marking the end of an era for two free checked bags for everyone. Soon, only Rapid Rewards A-List Preferred members, Business Select fare passengers, and Rapid Rewards Credit Cardholders will enjoy complimentary checked bags. For everyone else, we’re yet to learn the new baggage costs, but it might align with other carriers' $40 per bag each way.
Additionally, Southwest plans to switch from its open seating policy to assigned seating—offering premium seating options and revising the Rapid Rewards program to reward higher-tier bookings more.
