The latest vessel from Disney Cruise Line – the Disney Destiny – is about to embark on its first journey, and we've had a sneak peek at what this new ship offers.
The Destiny is packed with thrilling new attractions, featuring a strong Marvel presence, a Hercules stage production, a Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge, and the newly introduced Haunted Mansion Parlor. If you think you've seen all the Haunted Mansion Parlor can offer, think again!
The parlor greets you with the iconic Haunted Mansion logo and instantly recognizable faces in portraits as you step inside. The ambiance is delightfully eerie, with dynamic lighting that shifts between reds, greens, blues, and purples. Positioned at the room's center is a spooky fish tank that holds more than just fish; watch out for some skeletons too!
There is a primary bar area with ample seating complemented by additional tables, couches, and chairs spread throughout the lounge. The details in the decor pay homage to the original Haunted Mansion creators, with charming nods like a bust of Rolly Crump.
When it comes to the menu, the parlor offers unique alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks that are not found on the ship's sister vessel, the Disney Treasure. We dove into the menu and sampled several new drinks that were fresh to us!
Among our favorites was the "Tail of the Rat," a refreshing twist on lemonade with a subtle ube flavor. The "13th Hour" surprised us with its balance of sweetness and bitterness, while "The Chilling Challenge: My Way" impressed with its light, floral profile. Tiki fans might enjoy "The Siren: Ethereal Encore," as its fruity flavors resonate with classic tropical cocktails, despite its gin and sake base.
Non-alcoholic offerings are just as inventive, like "Restless Bones," which enchants with a caramel popcorn taste. While "The Swinging Wake," with its cherry cola vibe, left us a little underwhelmed, the souvenir cup's mesmerizing design made it worthwhile.
