When dining at Epic Universe, there's no shortage of choices. But where can you satisfy the craving for a quick bite while seeking a cozy escape from the hustle and bustle? We recently ventured into Le Gobelet Noir to sample the magical culinary creations they've been brewing. Is it worth a visit on your next trip to Universal's newest park? Let’s dive into our full review!
**Atmosphere**
Situated within the third Harry Potter-themed area at Universal Orlando, The Ministry of Magic adds another layer to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, complementing Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. Hidden within 1920s Wizarding Paris, Le Goblet Noir is tucked away "in the shadowy corners of Place Cachée," where those seeking privacy indulge in hearty meals.
Upon entering, you’re greeted by charming decor and the warmth of a grand fireplace. The intriguing setting also houses the residence of Nicolas Flamel, the famous alchemist tied to the Philosopher’s Stone.
**Menu**
Le Gobelet Noir’s menu offers a unique array of dishes inspired by the films and books, from soups and salads to handheld sandwiches, entrees, and delectable desserts.
**Eats**
We tried the Warm-Shaved Beef Sandwich and Alchemist’s Platter. The sandwich, filled with hearty corned beef, butterkäse, and German mustard on multi-grain bread, was a delightful surprise in its substantial build. The tavern fries, while satisfying, appear in various Epic Universe eateries.
For a bigger feast, the Alchemist’s Platter is packed with smoked sausage, pierogies, marinated beets, and more, making it ideal for sharing. The pretzel bread paired with cheese fondue was heavenly, a standout alongside the savory offerings.
**Drinks**
We sipped on Le Breuvage Sombre du Gobelet Noir, an intriguing non-alcoholic brew of mixed fruits with yogurt-popping pearls. Sweet and reminiscent of blue raspberry, it’s a must-try for mocktail fans.
