Time to dig in!
Mardi Gras is here! We're off to Universal for the 2025 Mardi Gras celebrations, exploring the entertainment, merchandise, and, of course, the food. Let's find out what's worth trying at this year's festival!
One of our favorite Universal events is finally happening! Running from February 1st to March 30th, 2025, this marks Universal's 30th Mardi Gras celebration.
This year's festivities offer 13 different booths featuring Canada, Columbia, and Taste of the Quarter, among others. There's even a new booth for India! We got to taste a few dishes to kick off the festival, starting with the Spicy Szechuan Chicken Bites at the China booth for $11.99. Heads up: these are spicy, but oh so tasty!
On the downside, we sampled the Red Beans and Rice for $7.49 at the Taste of the Quarter booth, but they were disappointing and described as "terrible." Bland rice and hard beans didn’t make for a great experience.
The Potato Dosa from India was $7.99, filled with curried potatoes. It wasn't badly priced, but nothing really stood out for us.
We also tried the King Cake for $7.49, a traditional treat that was delightful with its cinnamon swirl icing and festive sprinkles.
Other treats include a refreshing Pimm's Cup at the French Quarter Sips booth for $16.50, and Pinchos de Lechon at Puerto Rico's stand for $10.99, which looked quite appetizing in its presentation.
The Germany booth offers Leberkäse, German-style meatloaf, for $10.99, served on a pretzel bun. Meanwhile, Bites of the Bayou features Baked Cajun Mac & Cheese at $10.99. For a sweet fix, try the $7.49 Beignets at Taste of the Quarter.
Check out the Hot Maple Lacquered Salmon at the Canada booth for $14.99. It sounds like a great mix of sweet and savory.
We’re eager to experience all the festivities have to offer! What’s your must-try dish for this Mardi Gras? Share your thoughts in the comments!
