When staying at a Disney World resort, you'll likely want to maximize your experience, and dining at the resort's restaurants is a great way to do it!

We visited Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory at Disney's Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter to sample some new menu items and see if it’s worth a visit on your Disney vacation. Let's explore what they have to offer!

**Atmosphere**

Located in the main building, this counter-service spot is next to the beignet heaven of Scat Cat’s Club. The dining area is spacious, ideal for large groups, with charming New Orleans-themed decor, including Mardi Gras beads and references to *The Princess and the Frog*. Perfect for a quick meal before hitting the parks or on a relaxed pool day.

**Menu**

Featuring a variety of food stations, you can enjoy classics from pizzas to unique New Orleans-inspired dishes like the Bayou Hot Dog and Po’ Boys. If you have a Refillable Resort Mug, you can top it up at the soda stations.

**Eats**

We tried several dishes, starting with the Bayou Hot Dog, a spicy standout priced at $11.99. On the other hand, the Mediterranean Meatball Bowl ($12.79) lacked the bold flavors we anticipated. The Fish and Chips offered a lackluster experience compared to the Yorkshire County Fish Shop, resembling chicken tenders more than fish.

However, the Banana Bread with Praline Topping ($5.49) was a highlight, delivering a flavorful and satisfying dessert experience.

**Nosh or Not**

Stop by Sassagoula Floatworks if you're a hot dog enthusiast, staying at Port Orleans, or craving something savory with your beignets. Otherwise, Scat Cat’s Club — Lounge might be a better option for those with a larger budget or looking for a cozier atmosphere.

**Overall**

While the hot dog and banana bread were delightful, the rest didn't quite hit the mark. We'd recommend it mostly for convenience if you're already at the resort.

Have you dined at Sassagoula Floatworks? What was your experience like? We'd love to hear your thoughts!
