If you're on a quest for delicious eats at Disney Springs, you've got a ton of options. When it comes to barbecue, The Polite Pig is a standout spot for any meat enthusiast. But you might find yourself wondering: are the Chef's Specials worthy of your order?

We recently checked out this month's Chef’s Special at The Polite Pig to bring you an honest review. Let's dig in!

This month's Chef’s Special is the Seared Pork Loin Chop with roasted potatoes, mushrooms, and peas, all topped with a bourbon honey BBQ sauce for $23. While we generally love the regular menu at The Polite Pig, this offering fell short. It felt more like something we could whip up at home rather than a meal worth over $20 at a restaurant.

You do get a generously sized chop, but it's very fatty, which keeps it from drying out but might not appeal to everyone. It also made it quite tough to cut and chew. The sauce acts more like a glaze, and we found ourselves wanting more of it, as well as veggies included in the sauce for added flavor. You'll catch a hint of bourbon, but mostly it's just a honey barbecue flavor.

The vegetables have a somewhat mixed execution. The potatoes varied in doneness, with some being perfectly charred and others undercooked. The mushrooms had better consistency, though some still weren't perfectly cooked, they had a nice earthy taste, minus the slimy texture some might dislike. The peas were just peas. Overall, the veggies were nicely seasoned, which we appreciated.

In summary, we wouldn't order this again and would instead stick with The Polite Pig’s regular menu, which is reliably impressive.
