Does this booth deliver on the heat promised by its spicy name? Let's find out!

The 2025 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival is officially underway at Disneyland Resort, running until April 21st. There's plenty to explore—tasty treats, specialty drinks, and unique entertainment. We visited the Peppers Cali-Ente booth to see how spicy it really is.

**Menu**

As expected, Peppers Cali-Ente focuses on fiery flavors with two food items and a signature cocktail.

**Eats**

First up, the Shrimp Papas Locas: cheddar-bacon potatoes with jalapeño cheese sauce and spicy shrimp in Tajín chipotle sauce for $9.25. While the return of this dish is exciting due to its great flavors, the bacon sadly tasted too fake, overshadowing everything else. Quite the letdown.

Next is a new offering, the Corn Chip Chili Pie. Featuring seasoned IMPOSSIBLE Beef, spicy cheese sauce, tomatoes, sliced jalapeños, and cream, at $8, this comfort dish reminds me of snack shacks at baseball games—pure nostalgia. Although the cheese sauce wasn't all that spicy, this was a winner. Curiously, it combines plant-based meat with dairy cheese.

**Drinks**

The new Pickle Whiskey Sour Cocktail made with Bourbon, pickle juice, lime juice, and sweet and sour mix, garnished with Tajín and a pickle spear, costs $18.25. We had initial doubts—and rightly so. It feels like sipping pickle juice straight unless that's your jam.

The crisp pickle spear and Tajin rim were enjoyable but once again, Disney's obsession with pickles puzzles us.

**Overall**

This booth was a mixed bag: a unique but polarizing cocktail, a disappointing shrimp dish, and a stellar chili pie. We'd return for the pie and leave the rest. The pickle cocktail does offer a novelty factor.
