We're always on the hunt for new eats at Disney World, which is why we're closely watching updates to Disney World restaurant menus. Recently, when we discovered new items at El Mercado de Coronado, a quick-service spot at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort, we were hooked. Dive in with us as we explore these offerings!
Firstly, El Mercado de Coronado isn't Disney-owned but managed by the Palmas Group, similar to the Mexico Pavilion eateries in EPCOT. It's the unique non-Disney quick-service restaurant in a Disney hotel. The Spanish market-inspired decor, with its vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, makes for a cozy dining spot with plenty of seating options.
As for the food, there are various Tex-Mex selections plus classics like pizza and burgers. The highlight was the Tripleta Sandwich at $18—though a bit small, its flavor was delightful. We also discovered a must-try Pepperoni Pretzel for $21, perfect for pretzel lovers. The Forager Pasta, surprisingly on par with table service quality, was our top pick.
Desserts didn't disappoint, either. The Cronut, at $6, and the Flan, at $7.50, were particularly notable, each offering a sweet finish to our meal.
Overall, El Mercado de Coronado impressed us with a diverse menu and delicious offerings that elevated a quick-service meal to a more refined level. If you’re at Coronado Springs or nearby, it’s definitely worth a visit. What do you think of a quick-service restaurant offering food of this quality? Would you go out of your way to try it?
