It's an exciting day at Disney World! We're heading back to one of our favorite spots, Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, to give it another try. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and delightful drinks, this popular lounge promises an entertaining experience. And of course, we’re eager to offer you an updated review to help make your Disney World vacation the best it can be!
Atmosphere:
Trader Sam's offers a unique setting that feels like a tropical hideaway, featuring themed drinks and small bites. It's family-friendly till 8 PM, and then shifts to a 21+ venue. While you can't reserve in advance, the experience is worth the wait.
Menu:
From scrumptious Kalua Pork Tacos to the Pan-fried Dumplings, the menu has an array of small bites. However, the specialty cocktails, alongside some non-alcoholic options, are the real highlight, enhanced with interactive elements and special effects.
Eats:
Our recent visit included trying the Pan-fried Dumplings and Kalua Pork Tacos. The tacos, with their sweet flavor, were a hit despite their smaller size.
Drinks:
We sipped on the Uh-Oa and Spikey Pineapple drinks, with the pineapple flavor dominating. While enjoyable, we found the Uh-Oa a bit diluted. The Spikey Pineapple is a simple delight for Dole Whip fans but might be too one-note for others.
Overall:
Trader Sam's remains a beloved spot for its eclectic drinks and bite-sized treats. If you desire the full experience, dining inside is ideal, but the outdoor Secret Terrace holds its charm, too.
