Epic Universe is introducing a variety of new dining experiences, and we're excited to explore every restaurant to guide you on where to eat during your visit. While each area of the park has its own unique offerings, don’t overlook Celestial Park, the central hub, for great food options such as the Frosty Moon ice cream stand. But is it worth the stop for your sweet fix? We decided to find out.
The Frosty Moon stand is a quick stop with little seating available. You might want to enjoy your ice cream on a bench nearby with views of Helios Grand and the fountains. Be prepared, as you won’t find much shade or indoor seating here.
When it comes to choosing your ice cream, the menu can be tricky to read under the bright sun, but don’t worry—we've got you covered. Flavors include Vanilla, Chocolate, Cheesecake, Strawberry Yum, Cookie Butter, and Vegan Vanilla. Toppings like mini marshmallows, brownie pieces, and sprinkles are included in the price ($7.99 for a cup, $8.49 for a cone).
We sampled both the Strawberry Yum with marshmallows and sprinkles and the Cookie Butter with brownies. The strawberry was a nice artificial-tasting treat, though perhaps a bit pricey. The Cookie Butter, however, was unexpectedly smoky, resembling coffee rather than the flavor we had expected. The brownies provided a tasty addition, soft and moist.
Overall, the Frosty Moon is alright if you're craving ice cream, but don't expect it to blow you away. You'll get a decent amount for the cost, but it may not be memorable. If you're looking for an extraordinary experience, it might be worth checking out Florean Fortescue’s at Universal Studios instead.
