One of the most enchanting aspects of Disney World is watching your favorite characters come to life before your eyes. There are several ways to meet them, but we particularly enjoy character dining!
Dining with characters offers an intimate way to interact while savoring your meal without standing in line. We recently visited Story Book Dining at Artist Point at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and want to share a full review. Will this be your next must-do experience?
**Atmosphere**
Nestled in Wilderness Lodge, Artist Point immerses you in a magical land of royalty and treasures, enhanced by glittering tree lights. You can meet Snow White, Dopey, and Grumpy tableside, while meeting the Queen is a must at her photo spot. The Evil Queen doesn’t like reminders of her own nickname!
Unlike other bustling character dining spots like Chef Mickey’s, this experience is calmer and allows for possible multiple interactions with the characters. They even treat you to a charming song and dance routine!
**Menu**
For $67 per adult and $41 per child, enjoy a prix fixe menu with select appetizers and desserts, plus a choice of one of these entrees:
- “Cottage” Beef Stroganoff
- Royal Prime Rib Roast
- A Stroll Through Nature
- Magic Mirror’s Slow-braised Pork Shank
- Brother’s Grimm Herb Chicken
- Market Fish
- Sorceress Spell of ‘Tricken” Chicken
The culinary presentation is as magical as the stories of Snow White.
**Eats**
We began with appetizers like Smokey Mushroom Bisque, Hunter’s Harvest, and a Wicked Shrimp Cocktail. They may look small, but they pack a flavorful punch and the presentation is delightful!
For our entree, we chose the Royal Prime Rib Roast served with horseradish-mashed potatoes and carrots, although we might opt for a different dish next time. The jus was flavorful, complementing the prime rib beautifully.
To finish, our trio of desserts included Miner’s Treasures, Fairy Tale Gooseberry Tart, and our favorite, the “Poison” Apple. Each was as delicious as it was eye-catching!
**Should You Visit?**
Consider Story Book Dining if you love Snow White, want a relaxed character dining experience, and appreciate a set menu. If your little ones fear villains, you desire more menu flexibility, or are staying far from Wilderness Lodge, it might not be for you.
**Overall**
We love Story Book Dining for its interactive yet calmer vibe and exquisite appetizers and desserts. Classic princess fans seeking a laid-back character dining experience should add this to their list. Have you tried Story Book Dining at Artist Point? Share your thoughts below!
