I'm a big fan of pickles, whether they’re straight from the jar or in a tantalizing pickle martini. That's why the news that McShaker fries were hitting U.S. McDonald's locations had me thrilled—especially with the promise of pickle-flavored fries!
For those not in the know, shaker fries are a hit overseas and involve seasoning your fries in a bag. The idea of pickle seasoning sounded perfect to me, yet when I tried them, I was disappointed.
The fries come with a dill pickle seasoning packet and are part of McDonald’s Grinch Meal, which also includes your choice of a Big Mac or 10-piece McNuggets, a medium drink, and themed socks. Despite their popularity, the seasoning was too heavy on citric acid, overpowering the taste. My advice? Go easy on the seasoning.
Though I wanted to love them, the intense flavor didn't appeal to me. Anyone else tried these? Would love to hear your thoughts!
