We love exploring the eateries at Disney Springs! While you'll find some amazing spots inside the parks, there's a wealth of standout dining just outside the gates.
One place we particularly enjoy is The Polite Pig, known for its impressive barbecue dishes. We recently tried their newest menu item, hoping for a delicious surprise, but it didn't live up to our expectations.
Located in the Town Center area, The Polite Pig offers inventive takes on barbecue staples like Glazed Chicken Wings and Low & Slow Brisket.
Their latest offering is the Smoked Turkey Leg for $24, featuring a rootbeer glaze. Our enthusiasm was dampened by its overwhelming size and lackluster flavor. Despite the shimmering glaze, the rootbeer taste was entirely missing.
The turkey leg was tough and dry, with the glaze doing nothing to counteract that. The glaze seemed to vanish, leaving the meat further from being moist. While the plate comes with coleslaw, cornbread, and your choice of a side, our mac and cheese and cornbread were highlights, unlike the underwhelming coleslaw. For $24, the sides are the better bet!
Have you been to Disney Springs? Would you give the Smoked Turkey Leg a try, or do you have your own recommendations? Share your thoughts!
