Disney World and the surrounding area of Orlando offer a myriad of dining choices that cater to all tastes and budgets. Whether you want something quick, comfort food, or an upscale dining experience, you’re covered.
Recently, I visited Four Flamingos: A Richard Blais Florida Kitchen at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress. As a Michelin-recommended restaurant, it tempts with rich, Florida-inspired dishes led by celebrity chef Richard Blais. If you haven’t yet, book a table there soon!
The restaurant's atmosphere is an ode to Florida itself. It's tucked away in a serene spot within the Hyatt and boasts beautiful artwork by local artist Kim Murphy. It’s located just a short drive from Disney Springs, providing a slightly off-the-beaten-path option for magical dining.
The kitchen is open, offering guests a glimpse into the culinary action, and you might even catch Chef Blais in person. Operating daily from 5 PM to 10 PM, it’s ideal for both locals and visitors.
The menu varies with the seasons, focusing on fresh and sustainable ingredients, bringing Florida's flavors center stage. From raw and chilled options to substantial entrees and delightful desserts, each dish resonates with local inspiration.
My personal favorites included the warm, buttery dinner rolls, the perfectly seasoned ahi tuna with passionfruit sauce, and the gourmet amuse-bouche that started the meal off on a high note. The star of the evening for me was undoubtedly the filet mignon with gouda mashed potatoes—truly unforgettable!
Desserts like the flaming Baked Florida and indulgent coconut treat wrapped up the meal wonderfully. Plus, the cocktails, especially the Euphoria with its complex flavors, were among the finest I’ve tasted.
Overall, Four Flamingos exceeded my expectations with its unique and flavorful dishes. Whether you're on a Disney adventure or just exploring Orlando, consider adding this to your must-visit list for a remarkable dining experience.
