Exciting developments are on the horizon at Orlando International Airport (MCO) as Signature Aviation unveils plans to expand with several additions. According to the Orlando Business Journal, the airport will soon feature an 8,000-square-foot terminal, two expansive storage hangars, and 2,500 square feet of office space. The design, crafted by Winter Park’s Schenkel Shultz, will boast a VIP lounge and conference rooms, among other amenities. During construction, a temporary terminal will operate in the nearby Southwest Airlines Training Building.
This expansion is happening as the general aviation industry experiences notable growth, adding over 150,000 jobs and contributing $92 billion annually since 2020. Darren Pleasance from the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association noted the increasing impact of aviation across the U.S. with more people taking up flying.
Though the timeline for completion isn't yet announced, keep an eye out for more updates on this exciting project.
