January is a prime time for a Disney World visit. The weather tends to be cooler, even cold, and the holiday crowds thin out some, yet decorations linger in the parks. It's typically a more peaceful and relaxed period.

However, if you're flying to Disney World in January, expect potential issues. Winter weather often causes flight delays and cancellations, as seen today at Orlando International Airport, where numerous flights are delayed or canceled.

According to FlightAware, 144 flights are delayed, and 25 canceled, mostly affecting Southwest, Spirit, and Allegiant Air, but other airlines are also impacted.

A Forbes report indicates Winter Storm Blair is causing significant snow and ice in the Midwest, affecting over 2,500 U.S. flights. More disruptions are expected in the coming days.

If you're traveling today, prepare for possible delays or cancellations. Ensure your airline can notify you via text or have their app on your phone to track your flight's status regularly.

Depending on your airline or travel insurance, you may alter plans or receive a refund. Your booking credit card might offer compensation for flight disruptions and additional travel expenses.
