We adore going on cruises and diving into every intricate detail of the voyage. From choosing our meals to selecting excursions and planning activities, there's so much to anticipate.

With recent norovirus outbreaks on some ships, planning feels even more critical. This month, another cruise line reported gastrointestinal illnesses onboard.
During a Viking Cruise from April 11th to 23rd, there were reports of 37 passengers and 5 crew members becoming ill, with over 10% of 355 passengers contracting norovirus. The primary symptoms included vomiting and diarrhea.
The Viking Polaris took measures such as isolating sick individuals, enhancing cleaning protocols, and seeking guidance from the Vessel Sanitation Program to control the outbreak.
Keeping safe is key. Be diligent about handwashing, especially before meals and after restroom use—hand sanitizers aren't always effective.
If you're considering a Disney Cruise, note that the Disney Wish achieved a perfect sanitation score of 100 in CDC’s Sanitation Report. Here’s how other Disney ships ranked:
- Disney Wish: 100
- Disney Dream: 99
- Disney Fantasy: 98
- Disney Magic: 96
- Disney Wonder: 96
