We've had the pleasure of checking out Epic Universe quite a bit through various previews, but that doesn't dampen our excitement for the grand opening! The park is officially opening on May 22nd, and we can't wait to see the celebrations unfold. A new permit suggests it will be a spectacle filled with pyrotechnics, drones, and celebrity appearances!
The permit outlines backstage preparations for the event, with the setup located behind the Ministry of Magic in Epic Universe. Looks like the TODAY Show will be covering the event too, with dedicated areas for equipment and production. These EPIC Grand Opening Support Tents, set from May 1st to May 30th, hint at something big. Plus, "Talent Trailer City" suggests we'll see some familiar faces visiting between May 18th and May 22nd!
A Media Center will also be set up for training and special events. The permit includes plans for "Pyro Launch and Fallout Zones" and a "Drone Zone," hinting at a possible fireworks and drone show.
