ABC, ESPN, and other Disney-owned channels might be removed from YouTube TV at the end of the month. Disney and Google, YouTube TV’s parent company, have yet to settle on an agreement to sustain Disney’s content. Their current distribution deal ends on October 30th at 11:59 PM ET. If no deal is reached, YouTube TV subscribers will lose ABC, ESPN, and major programs including the NFL, NBA, and NHL.
Negotiations aren't going smoothly, and Disney has been alerting users about the possible service disruption. YouTube TV has promised a $20 credit if Disney’s channels are unavailable for a prolonged period. With the deadline fast approaching, many hope an agreement is reached soon.
YouTube TV seeks fair pricing for Disney’s content, claiming current terms would increase costs for users and limit choices, benefiting Disney’s own services like Hulu + Live TV. Besides ESPN and ABC, subscribers could also lose access to Disney Channel, FX, and more if talks collapse.
Disney also recently increased streaming service prices, marking the cost of enjoying Disney, Hulu, and ESPN offerings up by $2 to $3 monthly.
