Walt Disney World is gearing up for some major changes, especially at Magic Kingdom. Starting July 7th, Tom Sawyer Island, the Liberty Belle Riverboat, and the Rivers of America will permanently close to make way for a new Cars-themed area. With this transition, the Walt Disney World Railroad will operate differently but remain open, albeit with some modifications.
Magic Kingdom will soon feature Piston Peak, inspired by Cars, bringing exciting new attractions and entertainment. Frontierland's Big Thunder Mountain is also closed for updates, expected to reopen in 2026.
