A popular show has been canceled after just one season, even though it was originally slated for two!

If you love ballet, drama, and Paris, you might have enjoyed the first season of *Étoile*. Unfortunately, Amazon Prime has decided to cancel the series. Let’s dive into what led to this decision.

The creators, Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, released *Étoile* in late April. Despite receiving fairly positive reviews, we're now hearing that it's been axed just six weeks after its debut. All eight episodes were made available at once on Prime Video, following the binge-watch trend seen on platforms like Disney+ and Netflix.

The series starred Luke Kirby and Charlotte Gainsbourg as ballet directors trying to save their institutions. It was ordered in 2023, around the time Amy Sherman-Palladino's *The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel* concluded.

The decision to order *Étoile* came from Jennifer Salke, the former head of Amazon MGM Studios, before she stepped down in March 2025. Although there was a commitment for a second season, both creators were cautious about its future in an April 2025 interview with Variety. Despite the initial two-season order, the follow-up didn't materialize.

It’s disappointing when shows are canceled, leaving fans hanging with unresolved storylines. The reasons for the cancellation aren't entirely clear yet, but keep an eye out for updates. What do you think might have caused the cancellation? Share your thoughts in the comments!

If you watched *Étoile*, we’d love to hear your opinions! Drop your thoughts below.
