Yes, you read that correctly—our server actually set our meal on fire!
We adore enjoying a glass of wine and munching on appetizers, but it's even better when the flames are part of the presentation right at our table!
Stopping by Wine Bar George in Disney Springs is always a treat, and our recent visit did not disappoint, especially with the Saganaki On Fire dish!
Saganaki On Fire is a mouthwatering block of Vlahotiri cheese served with crostini, presented literally on fire! Its taste resembles manchego but is firmer and holds up beautifully on bread.
The cheese is set aflame tableside with Metaxa, adding a dramatic flair to the dining experience. Watching this fiery presentation, either at our table or others’, was just as delightful. Once the flames die out, the alcohol is gone, making it safe for everyone. The cheese is perfectly toasted, not burnt!
What stood out about this dish was its incredible freshness—the simple ingredients truly let the cheese shine, which is just how we like it!
Priced at $17, this appetizer leaves room to explore more small plates, like burrata or their well-known cheese boards, and perhaps even a family-style dish or key lime pie.
Don’t miss a chance to swing by Wine Bar George next time you're wandering through Disney Springs. Keep an eye on Disney Food Blog for tips on the best culinary finds at Disney.
