Magic Kingdom is buzzing with activity, and it feels a bit overwhelming! Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will be closed for at least a year for refurbishment, Villains Land is under construction, and there are two new lounges in progress — a DVC Lounge in Frontierland and the eagerly awaited Pirates Tavern in Adventureland. We just learned more about the Frontierland Lounge, McKim’s Mile House, as a new permit has been filed to install its signage. This permit is valid until February 2026.

Formerly the site of the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade, McKim’s Mile House began renovations in June 2024 and is set to open by Summer 2025, though the exact date is still unknown. The lounge's name honors Disney Legend Sam McKim, and ‘Mile House’ recalls Gold Rush days, marking a location a mile from a significant site. The concept art suggests a fitting tribute to Frontierland's era, but access will be for Disney Vacation Club members only.

The transformation means some exciting changes are underway. What are your thoughts on the new lounge? Share them with us!
