Construction walls have officially risen in DinoLand U.S.A. at Animal Kingdom.

The initial round of closures began on January 13th, 2025, to pave the way for a new land themed to the Tropical Americas, Pueblo Esperanza. Closed attractions include TriceraTop Spin, Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, and the Fossil Fun games.

Today marks the end for three key areas in DinoLand U.S.A. which ceased operations yesterday. Construction walls are now up as changes begin.

Since Animal Kingdom's opening in 1998, DinoLand U.S.A. has been a fixture with its storyline of an amateur fossil hunter finding real dinosaur bones, drawing scientists to the area. Chester and Hester, two locals, opened a carnival and roadside games to capitalize on the influx.

While excited for the changes, we're also feeling nostalgic. Disney reminds us that "Change is good."

The new land will feature an Indiana Jones attraction, an Encanto ride, a carousel, food stops, and more. Released concept art hints at what to expect.

We'll review these changes, reflect on what's gone, and enjoy Dinosaur while it's still open. Disney has shared that guests can travel back in time in 2025. Keep following for updates on Disney news.
