My name is Michael and my wife, daughter, son-in-law, and (then) 2 3/4 year old Granddaughter are planning a visit to Disney World in May of 2025. My SIL's parents are DVC members and are staying on Disney. We would like to do the same but are also budget concious. We will be flying down from New York, probably on a Monday and staying until Friday, planning to do parks for 3 days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday), one per day so don't think we will need park hopper. We try to eat healthy and don't do much snacking but will check out menus and prices before we come. I will be doing research between now and then to get the most value for our money. I haven't been to Disney since 2015 so looking forward to another visit, especially since we will have my granddaughter for her first visit.

Hi, @Michael LaFountain, Welcome to our community here!

2025 should be a great year; hopefully, some refurbishments will be completed by then. Do you know which parks you will be hitting?

Eating healthy at Disney can be done - but I would suggest sharing meals, even considering getting kids meals as they are about half the price of adult meals and plenty of food.

I recommend getting a refillable water bottle that you can attach to your shorts or backpack. That tip alone will save you a good bit on buying water at Disney. Please stay hydrated.

As far as flights, I use Google flights to find the cheapest times to go, I fly on Frontier, JetBlue or whoever has the cheapest flights. I find Frontier has better deals on Monday or even Saturdays. As far as resorts go, have you thought about where you might want to stay yet?
