I've been at DFB for some time, and every day has its wild moments.

From holiday parties and festivals to thrilling media events and interviews with Disney influencers, this job has definitely been a dream come true. Visiting the parks as often as I do is a huge perk. But today, let me share about a particularly fun day that involved riding Disney transportation a whopping twelve times!

Planning your ultimate Disney vacation

Last November, my day started at the Transportation and Ticket Center. I hopped on the tram from the parking lot to security (transport ride number one!). My agenda included Magic Kingdom and a stop at the Grand Floridian for holiday decor photos.

With Grand Floridian all decked out, why not check if the Polynesian Village Resort had its Christmas decor up too? Turns out it did! So, I captured the holiday scenes there before quickly heading off to cover something important at Magic Kingdom.

The tree was up!

After Magic Kingdom, I ventured to the Contemporary Resort and Wilderness Lodge to see their decorations (Wilderness Lodge was a miss), wrapping up at the Grand Floridian to admire its stunning 12 Days of Christmas-themed tree. By then, I'd used Disney transportation seven times, including the Monorail, Friendship Boats, and the tram.

My day concluded with a visit to Animal Kingdom Lodge. I hopped on the Monorail back to Magic Kingdom, then used the bus round trip from the hotel. A ride on the Express Monorail to the Transportation and Ticket Center and another tram ride brought my total transportation count to twelve. We didn't even touch the Ferryboat or Disney Skyliner!

What made this day so special? It reminded me of my love for exploring Disney Resorts! I usually spend workdays in the parks, sometimes visiting one or two hotels, but this day let me enjoy beautiful hotels and relaxing resort rides (I love a good boat ride). Capturing many Christmas trees and enjoying the festive decor was a treat—I'm a big fan of Christmas!

What could this mean for your vacation? Don’t skip the resorts! You could spend a whole day hopping from hotel to hotel and have a fantastic time, especially during the holidays. Each resort offers unique themes, dining, and ambiance, providing a relaxing break from the park's hustle. If I had more time, I might have reserved dining at a hotel restaurant or tried the other transportation options I missed.

Ultimately, it's often the lesser-known things that make a Disney World visit extra special! For me, it was photographing Christmas trees and daydreaming about moving onto the Resort Monorail. Even spending the day alone, I experienced some underappreciated Disney magic!

So, there you have it—a way to have an amazing day at Disney World for free. If you're not an Annual Passholder and want to resort hop, consider parking at Disney Springs and taking a bus to your chosen hotel.
