California is currently facing a significant natural disaster as three fires blaze through the Los Angeles region. Residents near affected areas are urged to evacuate, with evacuation orders expanding.

The fires started on Tuesday, January 7th, and include one near Pasadena in the San Gabriel Mountains, another in Sylmar in the San Fernando Valley, and a third in the Palisades area, spreading due to the Santa Ana winds. The cause is still under investigation by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. There is concern about the fires' trajectory and their potential proximity to places like Anaheim, California, home to Disneyland Resort.

A map shows the Hurst Fire, Eaton Fire, and Palisades Fire in the Los Angeles area, with Anaheim about 47 miles from Pacific Palisades and roughly 43 miles from the Eaton Fire.

Per the New York Times, smoke from the Palisades Fire is expected to move across Los Angeles and toward Glendale, not reaching Anaheim by 5 PM Wednesday. However, Los Angeles International Airport will see heavy smoke.

Governor Gavin Newsom stated firefighters are working overnight to combat the fires. Teams’ efforts to contain the fires remain ongoing, with expected severe impacts in the next day.

The Disneyland area hasn't received an evacuation notice. Evacuation orders are in place for specified zones, legally closing them to public access.

Disneyland Resort has not yet responded regarding the fires. Updates will be provided as the situation evolves. For the latest Disney news, continue following updates.
