Happy holidays and Merry Christmas! It’s Christmas week, and we're heading to the parks for festive fun.

The week of Christmas is one of the year's busiest times. Many enjoy the holidays with family and friends at Disney World, a truly magical place to celebrate. Activities include [Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party](https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/mickeys-very-merry-christmas-party/), [Jollywood Nights](https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/disney-jollywood-nights-at-disney-worlds-hollywood-studios/), and the [EPCOT Festival of the Holidays](https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/epcot-international-festival-of-the-holidays/). There are special holiday treats and a joyful atmosphere. **But this time of year is BUSY—here’s the proof!**

On December 23rd, we visited [Disney’s Animal Kingdom](https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/category/disney-parks/animal-kingdom-disney-parks/) and [Magic Kingdom](https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/magic-kingdom-walt-disney-world/). What did we find? **Crowds, of course!** Magic Kingdom is usually the busiest park, but Animal Kingdom also had MANY visitors. **The line to enter was HUGE!**

As we entered, the crowds thinned a bit, but the park was still busy.

In Pandora, the line for Flight of Passage was extremely long, with a wait time of **150 minutes** and Cast Members managing the crowd flow.

In the Africa section, the line for Kilimanjaro Safaris curled around Tusker House, showing a posted wait time of 70 minutes, though it likely exceeded that based on the starting point of the line.

Animal Kingdom was definitely busy! What about Magic Kingdom? The Monorail lines at the [Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC)](https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/walt-disney-world-resort-transportation/) were incredibly long, with Cast Members managing the queues.

We spent about 11 minutes getting through security and another **36 minutes** waiting for the Monorail to Magic Kingdom.

Once inside Magic Kingdom, the crowds were evident. The level of attendance felt comparable to a busy weekend.

As the week goes on, we anticipate even larger crowds. Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve will be the busiest, as Magic Kingdom often reaches capacity. The [Lightning Lane Premier Pass](https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2024/12/21/magic-kingdom-and-disneys-hollywood-studios-sold-out-of-lightning-lane-premier-passes-3-days-in-a-row/) is also sold out for several upcoming days, signaling heightened park traffic.

We'll be reporting from the parks throughout the holidays, so stay tuned to Magical Guides for more Christmas updates!
