Universal is going all out with its theme park expansion, and not just sticking to the usual Hollywood and Orlando spots. Alongside the anticipated Epic Universe, they’re venturing into new territories like Las Vegas with a horror experience debuting in August and a fresh theme park in Texas, the Universal Kids Resort, slated for a 2026 opening.
This new park in Frisco, Texas, is tailored for families with little ones, featuring lands themed around beloved franchises like Shrek, Puss in Boots, Trolls, Gabby’s Dollhouse, SpongeBob SquarePants, Minions, and Jurassic World. They're also integrating a 300-room hotel providing direct park access, which is already making good construction progress.
Some exciting attractions include a Shrek-themed playground, a tour by SpongeBob, water fun with Minions, dinosaur exploration in Jurassic World, and a Trolls music festival.
