If you've been to EPCOT lately, you've likely made a stop at the Mexico pavilion, maybe for a drink at La Cava del Tequila. You might have also checked out the Gran Fiesta Tour featuring the Three Caballeros. This classic ride was closed for two months for refurbishment and recently reopened with major upgrades. Disney made several updates, leaving us very impressed.
The story and scenes remain the same, but they've switched the old projections to digital screens, and a major update includes a brand-new sound system for the first time since 1982. The original audio tracks from the ride's opening in 1982 and update in 2007 have been completely restored. This includes the fireworks finale, which sounds amazing with the new speakers.
There's a pretty bird chirping in the loading area, enhancing the experience even before you board. The vibrant digital screens and improved lighting make the ride's scenes pop! Additionally, the Marionetta animatronic, absent for a while, was refurbished and returned right before the refurbishment.
Disney truly enhanced this beloved ride. If you're planning to visit EPCOT, a stop at the Mexico pavilion to see these changes in action is a must. And, what's your take on the upgrades? Share your thoughts in the comments!
