Last week, we had a fabulous time exploring Epic Universe for the first time and learned so much about the new park in one day.

Celestial Park

Universal announced that the Helios Grand Hotel is opening earlier than expected, and Annual Passholder previews are available for the new park, selling out quickly. Those planning a visit this year are in for a treat. However, we feel something significant is missing from the park, but it's not what you might guess.

Epic Universe boasts five themed lands: Celestial Park (the central hub), Dark Universe, Super Nintendo World, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic, and How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk. Each area is packed with attractions, dining, and shopping options for all ages and offers unique meet-and-greet opportunities with roaming characters.

Dark Universe Portal

In the Isle of Berk, you can meet characters like Hiccup and Toothless, while the Dark Universe features Frankenstein and the Bride of Frankenstein. At Super Nintendo World, expect to see Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Toad, and Donkey Kong! In the Ministry of Magic, a few characters roam to bring the world to life, but fewer interactions compared to other areas.

Welcome to Celestial Park!

Unfortunately, all performers in Celestial Park have been cut ahead of its May 22nd opening. This area originally planned prominent entertainment, like tales at Hemisphere Stage and the Sound Collector, an interactive guest experience.

Some speculate these cuts are due to budget constraints or low preview interest. Fans miss Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ Citizens of Hollywood, feeling these characters offered similar entertainment. With the park officially opening soon, we hope Universal reconsiders live entertainment for Celestial Park.

Are you excited to visit Epic Universe? We’d love to hear your thoughts!
