Staying at a Disney World Deluxe Resort is quite the investment, so you'll want to make sure it's worth it. In my opinion, opting for a pricier resort only makes sense if you plan to spend a day enjoying its amenities. A large part of the deluxe resort experience is actually exploring what you’ve paid for. Unfortunately, one deluxe hotel is set to drop in value as key amenities will be unavailable without a change in price.
Over at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, their renowned pool area will be temporarily closed for almost half of 2025—Stormalong Bay and Shipwreck Pool won’t be accessible from January through June 2025. While some leisure pools will remain open, they are smaller and might not accommodate many guests. As temperatures rise in March, I expect many will be disappointed by the lack of access to such a prominent feature after paying a hefty price.
This downtime impacts Beach Club Resort guests and those at Disney’s Yacht Club since both share the same pool facilities. Surprisingly, room rates, ranging from $700-$850 a night, are not changing to compensate for this inconvenience.
If complete resort amenities are a must for you, it might be worthwhile to explore other Disney Deluxe Resorts. Look into available options on the Disney World website to find the one that fits your needs.
I'd love to hear your thoughts! Are these pool closures a dealbreaker for you? Let me know your opinions in the comments!
