Orlando is moving forward with a plan that could significantly upgrade its public transportation, benefiting Disney World and Universal Orlando. The Orlando City Council has allocated $500,000 for a study on expanding the SunRail system to key locations including Orlando International Airport, Universal, the Orlando Convention Center, and Disney Springs. The total study will cost $6 million, with additional funding expected from other partners. This study aims to address the traffic problems plaguing Orlando and explore the feasibility of a train route connecting major attractions.

Local leaders, including Orlando mayor Buddy Dyer, emphasize the necessity of improving public transit to tackle traffic congestion. While the roadwork on I-4 is underway, many believe public transportation could provide a longer-term solution. The potential for a train line could make getting around Orlando more convenient for both locals and visitors.

What do you think about this proposed SunRail expansion? Could it be the traffic solution Orlando needs? Share your thoughts!
