For those wanting to use the DAS in the parks, there's a process. Visitors must engage with a Cast Member to verify eligibility. The updated process includes video chat steps with requirements like prohibiting chat recordings, ensuring the guest requesting DAS is 18 or older, and that the person with the disability is present during the chat.
Recent changes extended the DAS validity to one year, compared to 30 days previously, and restricted the service specifically to guests with developmental disabilities. This shift left some with other disabilities without the DAS option, offering them different accommodations instead.
