Big changes are on the way for Disney World hotels!

In recent years, Disney World has introduced several updates to its hotels, covering room revamps, lobby makeovers, and restaurant renovations. It seems the improvements are set to continue, so here's a look at what’s coming up!

**Scheduled Character Appearances:**

Disney is now organizing character appearances at its hotels on a set schedule. Previously, characters would appear randomly, but with signs posted in lobbies highlighting appearance times, you can better plan for a meet-and-greet.

**Luggage Assistance:**

Disney is testing a handy perk at the Value Resorts — direct luggage transfer with Southwest Airlines. If you're staying at All-Stars, Pop Century, or Art of Animation, simply drop off your bags at your hotel and pick them up at your destination, all for free!

**Moderate Resort Room Changes:**

For 2026, Disney is updating room categories at its Moderate Resorts, now offering Standards, Preferred, or a King bed room. It’s a move that should simplify the booking process.

**Fort Wilderness Campsite Changes:**

And for those who adore Fort Wilderness, take note: Starting in 2026, campsites there will have a maximum occupancy of 8, down from 10.

**Grand Floridian Lobby Refurbishment:**

Lastly, the Grand Floridian is getting a lobby overhaul, adding a new bar and refreshing the staircase and front desk. Sadly, this means no gingerbread house display for 2025.

What do you think about these changes at Disney World hotels? Do you welcome them, or do you think they could approach some aspects differently? Share your thoughts!
