Disney California Adventure is getting a new Coco ride! It was first announced at D23 in 2024, and we finally have some juicy details. The attraction will be nestled by Paradise Gardens Park and Pixar Pier, in spots currently used for backstage activities.
Disney has taken steps to initiate construction, submitting early plans to Anaheim Public Works. This exciting addition will transform a backstage area bordered by Disneyland Drive, Katella Avenue, Downtown Drive, and the Incredicoaster's backside. Though the ride's exact layout is under wraps, it's expected to be close to Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta.
An anticipated new bridge will link Pixar Pier with the expanded parts of Disney California Adventure coming with the DisneylandForward project, enhancing guest navigation. The ride promises a boat adventure featuring Coco's beloved characters and music, though we eagerly await an official timeline for its debut.
In broader changes, the Monsters, Inc. attraction will close in early 2026 to make room for a thrilling new Avatar expansion. This new land promises a dynamic encounter with Pandora’s wonders.
